Per Einar will talk about the formative years of WiMP (now Tidal) and share his unique perspective of the Norwegian Spotify challenger. How did two companies that started out with roughly same ambition take so widely different paths? Should we be proud of what was accomplished or frustrated that the global potential was never fully realised? How was their vision different? The team, tech and the eco-system surrounding them? How did they access capital and approach scaling? And more importantly, what can we learn from their entrepreneurial journey?

Jose Zurstrassen (Chairman, LeanSquare) in conversation with Vincent Favrat (CEO of music/tech company Musimap & Co-founder of Just Temptation).
Leansquare is a VC specialized in music/tech. As the chairman, Jose he has invested in several dozens of companies (many with successful exits). Leansquare also organizes the Wallifornia MusicTech conference in Liège, Belgium. Jose has a longstanding background as a serial entrepreneur (Belgium’s first leading ISP, Keytrade an online broker, MyMicroInvest Belgian leader in equity crowdfunding and more) who started coding at 11 and selling his software at age 13. He managed TedX Belgium for 6 years.
Vincent Favrat has a background in the music industry (Montreux Jazz Festival, Swiss Musicians Union, Stadeboth and more) but has lately been working with tech start-ups in the creative industries. Through his years he has both invested and been invested in. He is currently the CEO of Belgian music cognitive technologies company Musimap, Co-founder of Just Temptation (leader in film music investment in continental Europe), Investor and head of the strategic board of the smart digital multi-effect processor company MOD Devices and advisor for Qwest TV (SVOD streaming service of Quincy Jones & Reza Ackabaraly).
